    • Additional information

Pushyanug Churna is a herbal Ayurvedic medicine commonly used in the Ayurvedic treatment of all menstrual disorders such as excessive bleeding, painful periods, mid-cycle bleeding, and heavy bleeding before menopause[1].

According to Ayurveda, Pushyang Churna has pitta balancing and Kashaya (astringent) properties which help in managing excessive bleeding, a condition called menorrhagia. This astringent property along with Stambhana (stopping) property helps reduce the discomfort associated with leucorrhea. It also helps provide relief in burning sensation and discomfort in piles due to its Sita (cold) and Kashya (astringent) nature. In addition to that, it helps control diarrhea by making the stool thick and controlling water loss due to its Grahi (absorbent) and Kashaya (astringent) properties.

You can take 2-3gm Pushyanug Churna or as directed by the doctor. Have it with Tandulodak (water extracted after washing rice). Take it once or twice a day, preferably after meals to get rid of the symptoms of leucorrhea or other menstrual problems. Avoid self-medication or taking Pushyanug Churna in excess.

Not much scientific information is available about the side effects caused by the use of Pushyanug Churna. However, always consult an ayurvedic expert before taking this Ayurvedic formulation and follow the dosage strictly. The sensitive population groups including pregnant, lactating women, children, and people with serious health conditions should consult before taking Pushyanug Churna. People who are advised Pushyanug Churna should stick to the prescribed dose strictly. Overdose can pose health issues.

    1. Menorrhagia and Metrorrhagia

Generally, menstrual bleeding continues for 3-5 days, but if bleeding continues beyond this, then this condition is called Menorrhagia. Menorrhagia is referred to as Rakta Pradar or excessive (prolonged or heavy) bleeding during periods or menstruation This occurs due to an aggravation of Pitta dosha. When bleeding is seen at any time in between two menstrual cycles then it is called Metrorrhagia. This means it is a condition in which periods repeat after 10-15 days of the previous cycle. According to Ayurveda, both these conditions are known as Asrigdara.

Pushyanuga Churna helps to manage menorrhagia and metrorrhagia due to its Pitta balancing and Kashaya (astringent) properties.

    2. Leucorrhoea

Leucorrhea is a thick white or yellow discharge from the vagina. According to Ayurveda, Leucorrhea is due to an imbalance of Kapha dosha which results in itching, foul smell, and sometimes pain during urination.

Pushyanuga Churna or Powder is an Ayurvedic formulation that might help manage leucorrhea due to its Kashaya (astringent) property. It also helps to reduce the discomfort associated with leucorrhea.

      Tip:
      – Take 2-3gm Pushyanug Churna
      – Have it with Tandulodak (water extracted after washing rice)
      – Once or twice a day, preferably after meals
#This helps get rid of the symptoms of leucorrhea or other menstrual problems.

    3. Bleeding Piles

Due to today?s sedentary lifestyle, piles have become a common problem. It occurs as a result of chronic constipation. This leads to the impairment of all the three doshas, and mainly Vata dosha. An aggravated Vata causes a low digestive fire, leading to persistent constipation. It might then further result in pain and swelling around the anal region if ignored or left untreated. This further results in pile mass followed by sometimes or frequent bleeding.

Pushyanug Churna gives relief in burning sensation and discomfort in piles due to its Sita (cold) and Kashya (astringent) nature. It also helps to manage bleeding in piles due to its Stambhana (hemostatic) property.

    4. Diarrhea

Diarrhea is a condition in which one may experience loose, watery stools with increased frequency. Diarrhea is known as Atisar in Ayurveda. It is caused due to improper food intake, impure water, toxins, mental stress, and Agnimandya (weak digestive fire). All these factors can aggravate the Vata. This aggravated Vata brings fluid from various tissues from the body into the intestine. This leads to loose, watery motions or diarrhea.

Pushyanug Churna helps to control diarrhea by making the stool thick and controlling water loss due to its Grahi (absorbent) and Kashaya (astringent) properties.
