Benefits of Sitopaladi Churna
1. Chronic Inflammatory Lung Disease
Chronic Inflammatory Lung Disease causes difficulty in breathing. It is commonly termed Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). According to Ayurveda, COPD is caused due to an imbalance of all the three doshas (Kapha, Vata, and Pitta). It is the Kapha dosha that is mainly involved and causes an obstruction in the windpipe, thus causing breathing difficulties. Sitopaladi Churna is one of the effective formulations that is given in this condition due to its Kapha and Pitta balancing properties. It makes breathing easier due to its bronchodilator property[3,4].
Tip:
– Take 1-2 grams of Sitopaladi Churna
– Swallow with honey once or twice a day
– Avoid taking any food at least 30 minutes after taking it to get maximum benefit
2. Asthma
Asthma is a condition of inflammation in the air passage in the lungs which makes it difficult for a person to breathe. In this condition, a person faces repeated attacks of breathlessness and wheezing sounds from the chest. According to Ayurveda, the main doshas involved in asthma are Vata and Kapha. The aggravated Vata combines with deranged Kapha dosha in the lungs causing an obstruction in the respiratory passage. This makes breathing difficult and the condition is known as Swas Roga (asthma).
Sitopaladi Churna helps in managing the symptoms of asthma. This is due to its Vata and Kapha balancing properties. It clears air passage, thus making breathing easier[3,4].
3. Bronchitis
Bronchitis is a condition in which there is an inflammation in the windpipe and the bronchi (branches) of the lungs which results in the accumulation of sputum. In Ayurveda, this disease is known as Kasa Roga and is caused by an imbalance of Vata and Kapha doshas. When Vata dosha gets imbalanced, it blocks the Kapha dosha in the respiratory tract (windpipe) resulting in the accumulation of sputum. This condition further results in congestion in the respiratory tract that obstructs the air pathway.
Sitopaladi Churna is an Ayurvedic preparation that helps remove dryness and release sputum out of the respiratory tract. This is due to its Vata and Kapha balancing properties. It also helps boost immunity due to its Rasayana (rejuvenating) property[3,4].
4. Post Pulmonary tuberculosis
Pulmonary tuberculosis can be correlated with the condition known as Rajayakshma in Ayurveda. Due to improper eating habits or excessive physical activities, a person faces the condition of MandAgni (low digestive fire). This leads to an imbalance of Kapha dosha which disturbs the Vata dosha leading to Dhatu Kshaya (tissue loss). Altogether, it results in the condition called Rajayakshma. This condition further causes poor immunity.Sitopaladi Churna helps to manage pulmonary tuberculosis as well as post-pulmonary tuberculosis complications with the property of balancing Vata and Kapha dosha. It also helps improve immunity due to its Rasayana (rejuvenating) property[3,4].
Tip:
– Take 1-2 grams of Sitopaladi Churna.
– Swallow with honey once or twice a day
– Avoid taking any food at least 30 minutes after taking it to get maximum benefit
5. Indigestion
Indigestion, also known as dyspepsia and stomach upset, is a state of an incomplete process of digestion. It can be characterized by a sensation of pain or discomfort in the upper abdominal region accompanied by a feeling of fullness, bloating, and flatulence. According to Ayurveda, indigestion is termed as Agnimandya. This occurs due to an imbalance of Pitta dosha. Whenever the consumed food is left undigested due to Mand Agni (low digestive fire), it results in the formation of Ama (toxic remains in the body due to improper digestion), causing indigestion.
Sitopaladi Churna helps to reduce the symptoms of indigestion due to its property of balancing Pitta and Kapha Dosha. This in turn helps to digest the Ama and facilitates the Agni (digestive fire) to work properly[3,4].
Tip:
– Take 1-2 grams of Sitopaladi Churna.
– Swallow with ghee once or twice a day
– Avoid taking any food at least 30 minutes after taking it to get maximum benefit
6. Anorexia
Anorexia is also termed as a loss of appetite. In this, people have an intense fear of gaining weight and can become dangerously thin. According to Ayurveda, anorexia is a condition that results in the imbalance of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas. Low digestive fire (Mand Agni) may affect the digestion process and the food we eat might not get digested properly, resulting in the formation of Ama (toxic remains in the body due to improper digestion). This might lead to anorexia, also known as Aruchi in Ayurveda. There are also some psychological factors that lead to incomplete digestion of food, causing insufficient secretion of gastric juice in the stomach, thereby resulting in loss of appetite.
Sitopaladi Churna is one of the effective Ayurvedic preparations which helps to manage the formation of Ama by digesting it due to its Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) properties. It also helps to improve the Pitta dosha inside the body, which further brings the Agni (digestive fire) to its normal state. Altogether, it helps improve one’s appetite.
